Crop residues in corn-wheat rotation in a semi-arid region increase CO2 efflux under conventional tillage but not in a no-tillage system

چکیده

Appropriate management of crop residue plays a key role in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. However, it has been inadequately implemented general agricultural practices. In field investigation using static chambers, we evaluated the effects at three different rates - 100 % (R100), 50 (R50), and removal (R0) on carbon dioxide (CO2) efflux. The study was conducted corn-wheat rotation under conventional (CT) no-tillage (NT) systems semi-arid region. main results showed that CO2 efflux positively correlated with higher soil temperature (0.43–0.79) microbial biomass (0.66–0.89). treatments affected these traits. A strong positive relationship between (R2 = 0.96, CT R2 0.9 for NT) observed. system, significant increases were detected among cumulative efflux, where R100 R50 resulted 36 25 respectively, than R0. contrast, there no difference retention (R100 R50) NT system. Our revealed led to increased system conditions during first year application, while not impacted by residue. indicate is considerable potential improving practices context degradation, climate change, increasing productivity, (C) sequestration.

Principal Component Analysis for Soil Conservation Tillage vs Conventional Tillage in Semi Arid Region of Punjab Province of Pakistan

Principal component analysis is a valid method used for data compression and information extraction in a given set of experiments. It is a well-known classical data analysis technique. There are a number of algorithms for solving the problems, some scaling better than others. Wheat ranks as the staple food of most of the nations as well as an agent of poverty reduction, food security and world ...

Crop rotation and tillage effects on selected soil physical properties of a Typic Haploxerert in an irrigated semi-arid Mediterranean region

Physical, chemical and biological attributes of soil surface are significantly affected by tillage practices and crop rotation. The objective of this study was to determine the short-term (2006-2009) effects of conventional and conservational tillage practices on selected soil physical properties of a heavy clay soil under two wheat-corn and wheatlegume rotation in a semi-arid Mediterranean...

Effects of field experimental warming on wheat root distribution under conventional tillage and no‐tillage systems

Despite the obvious importance of roots to agro-ecosystem functioning, few studies have attempted to examine the effects of warming on root biomass and distribution, especially under different tillage systems. In this study, we performed a field warming experiment using infrared heaters on winter wheat, in long-term conventional tillage and no-tillage plots, to determine the responses of root b...
